Quaker Parrot
Wiley's Video
Wiley

He came to us at 9 years old with a terrible temper. He is now lovable when he is away from his cage but, hands off when he is in it. We love him very much. Thank you to Phoenix Landing Org. for bringing Wiley in to our lives

Cockatiels

Sydney we lost him in early 2007. He fell victim to an unknowing dog. He was our first. We miss him very much and grieve for him still. Flock Haven will always hold on to the memory of our dear Syd, never forgotten. Our hearts go out to him.

Logan and Victoria (Vicki) were two of the first to enter our home. Logan was obtained from a pet store before we realized the extent of Parrots in need of homes. Vicki was our first rescue and was saved from the local Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, Va. She was the only female
in a cage full of males.

Spectacled Amazon

Pookie is a recent Flock Haven rescue. Her family was stationed over seas and could not join them. She came in with quite an attitude but has since calmed down and has become extremely playful. She has attached herself to Cynthia and takes walks with the family on occasion. She is very loved and will remain with us. We just couldn't imagine life without her playful nature.

Casey 3 months later
with more feathers

Blue and Gold Macaw
Casey's Video

Casey came
in as a plucker as well. She was re homed to a place full of love and wonderful care but health issues within the family brought her back to us. She has been moved one too many times and needs to remain with Michael (Flock Haven founder and member) as they hold a special bond.
As you can see in this recent photo, she is growing her beautiful plumage back. Casey is one of the most lovable Macaws that we have ever met.

Umbrella Cockatoos

Anne Marie and Junior were adopted in 2004 from Phoenix Landing Org. as well. Junior was a plucker when he came to us. He has since stopped this behavior and continues to grow back feathers. He has done damage to some follicles and may never grow back his feathers in some spots. Anne Marie has developed seizures but with much love and support she gets through them and remains as sweet as she could ever be. We love them very much and thank Phoenix Landing for bringing them to us.

Quaker Parrot

Greenley is one of Flock Haven's recent rescues. She is a very special girl and will remain within our flock as she is quite attached to us. Cynthia and Kayla (Flock Haven founders and members) hold a very strong bond with Greenly and the rest of our special Quaker friends.

Russaranian
Rupert Video Holding his own Playing

Rupert is the son of Cynthia's family pooch (Boo Ray the Pomeranian) mixed with Jack Russell. Our special boy is loved by all.

Congo African Grey

Basco came to us in late February of 2008. He is a very special guy and bonded instantly with Cynthia. His family voiced their wishes that he remain with us and we have no argument about that idea. He has changed the whole flock dynamic for the better not to mention that we just love him so dearly. Thank you Sarah and family for bringing us such joy.

Boxer Mix
Xeta's Video, missing Rupert

R.I.P.
10-15-2006 to 4-15-2008

Xeta came to us in late Oct. 2007. She was a very special girl that was in need of a home that could assume responsibility for her epilepsy. Sadly, we lost Xeta to her condition on April, 15th 2008 at 10:30am. She began having seizures on the 12th and they just never stopped, no matter what we tried. Xeta joined her sister Dana at Rainbow Bridge where neither will have to suffer again. She is missed more than we could ever express.

We love you so much and miss you terribly.
We want to thank Dr. Ray and everyone at Churchland Animal Clinic for everything they did to help us and our sweet girl through these trying times. We also want to send a special Thank you out to Dana's family for their support and help. You have been so wonderful, Thank You.

The White Dove
Lovey is one of Flock Haven's recent rescues. He is a very special guy and is extremely interactive. Kayla has him trained to fly to her hand with a signal. He has bonded to her and will remain with her for the duration of his life.
Kayla's one true love.

The Kakarikis
Mr. and Mrs. Kakadoodle have been through some rough times and have some how survived. These two were bleeding from the eyes when they arrived. A nasty viral infection had set in. The vet's prognosis was not good at first. Miraculously they fought for their little lives and won the battle. We have no idea how old they are, they are not tame and they are rumored to not live long in captivity. We will keep these little guys here and allow them to live free in the future aviary.

Pomeranian
Biff is a foster for Bosleys Pom Posse. Isn't he a happy little fellow. We decided after the loss of our beloved Xeta that we wanted to help someone else in her honor. Not to replace her, mind you. Biff has become quite a family member in a short period of time and we may not be able to let him go. If that be the case, we will foster someone else to help out the fur babies in need. Every human companion deserves the best in life.

Harlequin Macaw
Morgan (formerly Marco) came in and stole everyone's heart immediately. He has bonded very strongly to the whole family and helps in rehabilitation of other Macaws in need.

Congo African Grey
Buttons came in with many issues and has bonded strongly to Basco. He could not be moved from thwe flock due to emotional issues and we feel it best for him to remain with those he knows and loves.

Blue and Gold Macaw
Apollonia/Apollo has had a hard life and will take many years of rehabilitation to become properly socialized. To rehome her would be a crime in its self. She has bonded strongly with Cynthia and is working on tolerance of others.

Flocked and In Foster

Roxy/Diamond and Kalen found a special bond the minute they set eyes on each other. This is an amazing match made in heaven. We would not usually recommend a teenager as a primary care provider but Kalen and family spent an extreme amount of time to prepare Kalen and their family for this special addition. Kalen is an incredible young man as well, he never misses a beat and remains dedicated to Roxy and her long term care. It is very obvious that they will spend many years growing older together. We are so happy for the two of them and plan to finalize the adoption in the next 4 to 5 months without hesitation.

Ruby/Claudia is a Vosmaeri Eclectus. She came to us with Greenly the Quaker and her sister Roxy. She is very intelligent and has become quite lovable.
November 2007

Ruby/Claudia and Meg is another amazing match made in heaven. As before we said that we would not usually recommend a teenager as a primary care provider but we now stand corrected. Meg is another wonderful person willing to put the time and effort into making everyone around her feel good. These 2 are perfect for each other and we know that Ruby/Claudia will always be cared for the way she should be. Meg has and does care for other parrots with special needs in her home and has done a wonderful job with them all. She has a special way with our feathered friends. It makes us feel good to know that the youths of today can be as caring and giving as Meg and Kalen. Congrats to you all and thank you.

Roxy/Diamond is a Vosmaeri Eclectus. She came to us with Greenley the Quaker and her sister Ruby. She is very lovable and extremely intelligent.

Bebe is a Quaker Parrot. She came to us with cage aggression issues towards small children. She is the sweetest and most gentle Quaker we have ever met and has come to be a Flock Haven favorite amongst all of the Quakers.

December 2007

Bebe and Alexis
are a perfect match. Alexis waited until she knew for sure that she could provide a perfect and stable forever home before searching for the right feather. It has been a long time coming but they finally found each other. Alexis is a very wonderful person and a very close friend of Flock Haven and has been for many years. We have no doubt that she will take extra special care of our wonderful quaker friend Bebe. We will be taking the trip to visit them in the near future as we miss both friends very much. We love you both and thank you Alexis for giving Bebe what she always needed.

Titus came in because of allergies and bit of cage aggression. He does not like fingers in his cage but who wouldn't. He is a sweetie that needed to choose his perfect home and that's just what he did.

January 2008

Titus
Titus Video and Megan are a match meant to be. He stepped up for her and did not want to leave. He follows her around the
house now so she is bonding quickly.
She also has a beautiful Ringneck (Clover) in the house that will make for great
company for Titus as he is used to having
lots of birds around in the Haven.
Megan and her husband were and are willing to follow the strict Flock Haven Care manual and are so enthusiastic in making sure they are both healthy and will live long happy lives.
We are so proud to have them as a link to The Haven. Thank you two so much for giving Titus perfect home.

Fiji is a Peach faced lovebird that came to us with cage aggression, she did very well with hands on until he met Lindsay. She fell in love and poof no more aggression.

January 2008

Fiji and Lindsay
met and both melted right there. Lindsay is such a sweetheart with a sweet, soft voice that will continue to melt Fiji for always. She is more than willing to take perfect care of her new feathered friend and ask questions should she need to. We even get to check up often as she works in our Doctors office. Hehehe, we will be sneaking in on you Lindsay but happy visits, we love you. Thank you for caring enough to take in our colorful sweetheart. She will bring you years of joy.
Fiji has also found a new friend in Lindsay's son. They absolutely adore each other, her whole family is sharing in the joy of Fiji.

Mr. Big is a Pied Cockatiel that came in with the flock of 10. We pulled him from the flock 1st and he immediately showed interest in human interaction as well as showing off that he could dance very well.

February 2008

Darlene and Mr. Big,
We all knew right away that they were going to be a great match. Mr Big will take a little bit of time to settle in to human flock life but we are positive that Darlene will have no problem with helping him along quickly. He has the most beautiful crest that any of us have ever seen on a tiel. Have fun dancing with your new baby!!!

March 2008

The nine Parakeets and Karen are happily living together in Greenville, NC . Karen has an indoor flight room as well as an outdoor aviary for parakeets and cockatiels. Everyone was so happy and the keets just took right over and dove right in to their fresh food as soon as they found it. We are so happy for all of them and know that they will live out their lives happier than they could elsewhere.

April 2008

Zeus, Tony and Deb are extremely happy to have each other. Tony and Deb have been waiting several years for the right Cockatoo to come along, and then came Zeus. It's obvious from the pictures that he snuggled up and never looked back. We are extremely happy that Zeus finally met his match. He will be sorely missed at the Haven but well worth it for him to have the perfect forever home. He is going through a 6 month preliminary foster period but we expect him to remain forever. Thanks you two.

Mecca is a 10 year old Nanday Conure that spent way too long in a cage hung in a corner. Bad diet and neglect left Mecca plucked and unhappy.

April 2008

Yaz/ formerly Mecca and Margaret met a few months ago and never forgot each other. Margaret finally decided to adopt Mecca and give her the attention and life she deserves. Mecca craves attention and love from human companions and Margaret has all of that and more to give. These 2 are a perfect match and will be happy together forever.

Thank you so much Maragaret for everything you do for the Haven, Meg and the Feathers.

Peppermint Patty is a Pied Cockatiel that came in with a flock of 3. She was not tame and had no background info.

April 2008

Peppermint Patty, Yo-yo and Meg are quite bonded and happy to have found each other. Yo-yo and Patty hit it off and are helping each other to adjust to a happy healthy life. Meg has done such a wonderful job with them both and continues to help every feather that touches her life. We are so grateful to have Meg in our corner and feel as if she is a close part of the family.

Thank you so much ,Meg. You are the most special and we love you.

Mimi is a Cinnomon Pied Cockatiel that came in from a family that did not have the time she needed.

April 2008

Mimi and Katherine found each other by chance. Tony, her other cockatiel is very bonded to Katherine and the family needed a feathered friend that could interact with everyone. We hope that Mimi can help is Tony,s socialization rehabilitation. Katherine is the perfect home for this special girl.

Jimmy is a Quaker

May 2008

Jimmy and Alexis found each other in mid May and were obviously meant to be together.
We have no doubt that Jimmy is going to be one happy little guy forever and always.
